Japan’s First Bar Devoted to Fruit Brandy
Bar B&F is Japan’s very first bar dedicated to fruit brandy, brought to life by the team behind BenFiddich, one of the country’s most celebrated bars. The name “B&F” stands for “Brandy Made From Fruits,” a clear statement of its core concept.
There’s no printed menu here. Instead, guests are encouraged to chat with the bartender and build their drink together. You might be served a seasonal fruit cocktail, or something that starts with house-made fruit brandy and then ventures into entirely new territory.
Sure, you can enjoy reimagined classics like a fruit brandy Negroni or a spiced-up Bloody Mary, but the real draw is the lineup of inventive original cocktails. Take, for example, a whisky sour with fresh shiso, lemon, honey, egg white, and Miyagikyo whisky. Or a bold and savory mix of fresh tomato, sweet potato shochu, pink pepper, Tabasco, and unfiltered mirin from Me—a cocktail that’s hard to find anywhere else. It’s the kind of creativity that makes this bar well worth the trip for international visitors.
The interior channels the atmosphere of a European forest. The back bar is crafted from natural nezuko wood, and the green-toned ceiling adds to the cozy, grounded vibe. As the golden glow of the setting sun pours into the room, there’s no better place to unwind with a glass of fruit brandy, made from fruit that once soaked up that same sunlight.
